In Process: Chrysanthemum Jacquard

This season’s Chrysanthemum motif developed as a nod to the florals that have long been a core part of the Proenza Schouler print language, headed in a new direction. The approach began with painting flowers in the style of vintage silkscreen prints, with loose paint strokes and intentionally misaligned silhouettes. The print was modernized with a digital effect producing streaks of color to add a sense of motion and liquid color. A common thread of abstracting brand codes to find a way forward exists in this season’s prints.
